About Us

Our Story

Maurice Gilbert has always had a passion for good, locally produced food. In 2006 he put that interest into practice, creating his own 100% natural apple juices.

Maurice began selling the juices at farmer’s markets.

It soon became clear that he’d something special. With business partner Gerry Murphy alongside, the seeds of Ballyhoura Apple Farm were sown.

In 2010 Ballyhoura Apple Farm won a coveted Blas na hÉireann food award. In 2015 we moved to our new headquarters in Kilfinane, under the gaze of the Ballyhoura Mountains.

It’s here in Kilfinane that products like Ballyhoura Apple Cider Vinegar are made, which is loved not only for its wellness promoting qualities, but its great flavour too. It’s also where visitors can tour our Artisan Food Park and Vinegar Vault.

Our Team

Sustainability

Sustainable produce and communities go hand in hand for us. We’re proud to make 100% natural, sustainable products that support local employment and contribute to the economy through Ballyhoura Artisan Food Park.

All our apples are grown in Ireland, and we’re always looking for new ways to promote sustainability. Reducing our environmental impact and protecting our natural heritage are at the heart of what we do.
